Dalabelos is a model agrotourism complex located in the Prefecture of Rethymno, east of the town of Rethymno and surrounded by the villages of Panormo in the north and Angeliana in the south with easy access to the national road. The ten units of Dalabelos each about 25 sq. m. are situated amongst the 8 acres of olive trees and aromatic plants with breathtaking views over the Cretan landscape and the Cretan Archipelago.
Each unit has a balcony or a patio, a fireplace, air conditioning, a kitchenette, including a fridge, cable TV, telephone, Internet access, and bathrooms with great showers, hand made ceramic sinks, and hairdryers. The complex also provides facilities for people with disabilities. Eucharis In this room our guest will meet the joy and mirth emerging from the company, the wine, the music, the singing and love. Sophia (wisdom) In this room our guest will discover Athena, goddess of wisdom and her sacred olive tree constituting the main tree plantation of the unit and the surrounding area. Hephaestus This was the Olympic god of fire and metallurgy. This room named after Hephaestus is providing facilities for disabled persons. Drosia (freshness) It is the name of the architect who materialized the idea of creating Dalabelos. Anatoli (east)Is touched by the first rays of the morning sun. The paintings and ceramics refer to the Oriental style. Talos A mythical giant linked to the island of Crete. Created by Hephaestus he patrolled the island thrice a day and reported to the gods whatever happened on the island. The butterfly The name of this room is after the butterflys wing shape of a stone found in this place during excavations. The decoration of the room is accomplished with the colourful representation of this amiable insect over the fireplace as well as the glass pieces of the floor. Manuel The Jewish name of Emmanuel means god is with us. For the people of Dalabelos it denotes the origin. It is the name of the father of the owners, who set the cornerstone to this endeavour. Speira (spire) The name of this room is inspired by the spire-a well known motif even from the ancient era. It is found in natural phenomena, within the realm of animals and plants, in art and in the everyday life of people. Irida (rainbow) This name was taken after the natural phenomenon in the sky right after the rain. The view of the rainbow with its seven colours that can be seen from alabelos after the rain especially during the autumn and spring season- is exceptional. ACTIVITIES: In the restaurant of Dalabelos, you will experience the tastes of the Cretan Diet, world famous for its healthy attributes. In this warm, comfortable and tastefully decorated space, you will have the chance to taste traditional Cretan Cuisine based virgin olive oil, wine, aromatic herbs etc. You can also observe and take part in the picking of olives, grapes, and wild greens, and learn to create traditional foods, sweets, and bread using old family recipes and organic produce from our complex. Furthermore hotel guests will be able to attend seasonal seminars; with themes such as picking olives, preparing olives for eating, olive oil, cooking with olives etc. In the amphitheater and courtyard of Dalabelos you will experience evenings of local music recitals performed by authentic Cretan musical instruments. In the ceramic studio of Dalabelos you can observe the resident artists at work. Furthermore hotel guests will be able to attend seminars to learn how to mold clay, work the wheel, and create ceramics. In the coffee house (kafenio) of Dalabelos you sip a coffee or a drink whiling away the time reading a book or playing a game of backgammon or cards seating in front of the fireplace. |
